La Romànica Market

In the original 1961 design, the Santa Maria Market occupied two-thirds of the width of the plot and had a ground floor space attached to the south-west dividing wall, which occupied the remaining part. With the 1983 renovation, the entire width of the plot was occupied and the original structural roof framework was replaced with large concrete roof frames.

The project preserves the current structure of the Market, with the large concrete roof frames, the masonry walls, the pilasters and the ceiling of the ground floor, but goes a step further, following the logic of the plot's original layout and creating a semi-outdoor entrance courtyard, parallel to the south-west dividing wall, which frees up space.
