Viladecans Seafront

Viladecans

2008
120 ha + 55 construccions

This stretch of Barcelona's coastline did not undergo the intense urban transformation of the 1960s, thanks to the creation of campsites such as La Ballena Alegre (designed by architect Francesc Mitjans), Filipines and El Toro Bravo, with a landscape predominantly consisting of nature and low-rise constructions.

This intervention entails the removal of roads and obsolete and non-essential buildings, as well as the elimination of invasive plant species. Subsequently, the autochthonous vegetation and dune system will be restored, and the most unique buildings will be preserved and integrated into a special bird protection area.
