The old Mina Nieves mine in Cardona, which closed its doors in the 1990s, has been transformed to become the Interpretation Centre for the Salt Mountain Cultural Park. Thanks to the original height of the old powerplant building, this centre is now a bright multipurpose space that welcomes visitors. The rooms and spaces that were not needed for the new use have been converted into courtyards and light-filled areas that invite visitors to read and interpret the historic building.
