La Humanitària

In the early 20th century, the old La Humanitària ballroom was one of the places for social gatherings in the village of Térmens. It was later remodelled as a textile factory, which distorted the building’s distinctive features, such as the entrance, the stage, the size of the hall and the façades.

This intervention has restored the hall to its original use and morphology, and the renovation began with the entrance: a large space 10 metres high, with a reception hall on the ground floor and a multipurpose room on the first floor, a level that did not exist previously and which is intended to be used independently. To access the multipurpose room, a new ceramic structure was erected adjacent to the partition wall, housing the staircase and lift, and is respectfully separated from the original building, to which it is connected by a walkway. During the intervention, the façade was restored to its original state.
