Passeig de l’Estació de Sallent

The Passeig de l’Estació de Sallent promenade occupies the space of former Manresa-Bagà railway line, which ran between the Llobregat River and the highway between the late 19th century and 1973, connecting the town centre with the municipal secondary school.

This project creates a sprawling linear vantage point with panoramic views of both the river and the historic centre. The protective railings have been removed, integrating the riverbank into the setting all along the promenade. A landscaped parterre, which includes a rainwater drainage system and hinders the growth of trees, serves as a necessary buffer between vehicles and pedestrians.

The promenade evokes the crossing and bypasses of the former railway tracks, and has been widened in several places to create rest areas and lookouts, to enhance the historical and scenic heritage of the area.
